WHAT IS SERRAPEPTASE?

Serrapeptase (serratio-peptidase) is a proteolytic enzyme isolated from the friendly bacterium Serratia E-15. Proteolytic enzymes digest protein by aiding in the digestion process, breaking it down into amino acids. Serrapeptase was discovered in the gut of Japanese silkworms where it is used to dissolve the protein molecules that make up the cocoon, thus enabling the silk worm to escape.
